Following up his Reading and Leeds performances last weekend, Ian Brown is playing a free show in London on 28 September to promote his new album. Dubbed as his “most intimate show … ever played in the UK”, it’s to promote his new album My Way released on the same day, with tickets being distributed randomly from those who preorder his album as HMV.com. Pop-punk-turned-indie-rock band Brand New have announced they’re playing a one-off date at Wembley Arena on 23 January 2010. The show will be their biggest headline show to date. Their new album Daisy is released 21 September, and is the follow-up to 2006′s The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me.

American singer-songwriter Regina Spektor has announced a 4-date UK tour for November and December, tickets are already on sale. Dates after the jump.

Experimental rock band The Mars Volta have announced a second date at London’s Roundhouse. The band are now playing the Roundhouse on 16-17 June, then Latitude on 19 June. Tickets are on sale now for both dates with a face value of £20.

US Ska band The Aggrolites are doing a UK tour in November. Dates are:

Pop-punk band Alkaline Trio have revealed three UK dates around their Reading and Leeds Festival appearances. They are releasing new album Agony and Irony in July, their major label debut.

The dates are:
20 Aug – Koko – London
25 Aug – Garage – Glasgow
26 Aug – Ambassador – Dublin

Welsh formerly-post-hardcore-but-now-mostly-bland Funeral for a Friend are doing a 4-date UK tour in June-July around their festival appearances. Read more for full dates.

According to promoter TCT, the Oxford date on Jonah Matranga’s UK tour has been canceled due to “unforeseen circumstances”, and will not be rescheduled. The rest of the tour will continue as planned.

The Rocket Summer are playing a 12-date UK tour this July.

Pop-punk band Cartel have canceled their UK tour that was due to take place next month. The band were going on a 8-date tour with US band Farewell. Welsh bands Stereophonics and Feeder will be amongst the artists playing a free gig on 26 May at Cardiff Millennium Stadium to celebrate Wales’ rugby Grand Slam win. Tickets will be made available to Welsh rugby clubs from Friday the 16.

The Pigeon Detectives have cancelled two shows after singer Matt Bowman injured his leg at Radio 1′s Big Weekend. The band will rearrange their Dublin and Belfast dates originally scheduled forhe 13 and 14 May, but the Glasgow date of their tour is likely still going ahead.
